What Is your favorite Anime?

XD I was a huge Sailor Moon fan too. I also was crazy about it due to the dub version and then discovered the original. The only disappointment I had was that Zoisite was originally a guy. I LOVED having an awesome female villain (Beryl doesn't count)...and I didn't want to be a scout. I wanted to be HER, ya know? So that was a bit crushing...and then Fisheye came along and confused me further, lol.

Ahh, the gender-bending in Sailormoon is great, eh?! Of course, for my innocent little mind at the time... I think I was ten? I didn't really understand the implication of 'Haruka and Michiru are cousins' (sorry, I forget their English names), and why was Zoicite a boy when he looked so much like a girl. I had smartened up a bit by the time I watched SuperS as I watched that arc around 2000 or so.

Aww, that's awesome that you wanted to be Zoicite! Most of the time I don't really feel any sort of... connection with the more villainous-type characters. Actually, the only way I really like the :P is in the manga and ahum, the Seramyus? (*is a total geek like that*) They kinda left them hanging in the anime which is unfortunate. I like the fact that they kinda re-appear here and there to help Mamoru out.

Personally I always wanted to be Makoto. I was all into wearing my hair in a high ponytail with bobbles. I always admired her tomboyishness and assertiveness, oh, and her height! I wish I was more than my measley 5'2. ._.

Man, all this Sailormoon talk makes me want to pull out my DVD's and marathon it. Or, you know, it could be the fact that i have to buckle down and get work done this weekend that makes me want to procrastinate so bad!

What was your favourite Sailormoon Arc?

*dies* I wore my hair like Zoey's (my nickname for female Zoycite, lol) ALL the time in middle school...and had her laugh down well enough to creep out my friends if they were annoying me. I've never cosplayed her though, which is a shame...favorite character and all.
My favorite arc is the first season. I will always and forever love the :P/Queen Beryl/Dark Kingdom. It was the original story, ya know? It never freaking fails: Nephrite's death makes me cry, every single time I watch it...english or Japanese (though my VHS of the english version is looking worse for wear, and you simply can't find the individual dvds of the dub anymore...which is a shame as I still have an affection for it).
I think the dream mirror arc, with the Amazon Trio/Neherenia comes in as my second favorite arc...

Somewhere, I still have all my drawings and brainstorms for a spin-off series starring the villains...Zoycite is the head of the scouts and Naru and Fish are basically her right hands...and of course Kunz, Neph, and Jae are all warriors as well...though not scouts. I wouldn't put crossdressing past Jae or even Neph but Kunz? Yeah, uh-huh, like THAT will happen. I really should go back and actually try to write the thing one day. It was this big, epic story that I came up with, lol.

I'm a super Toku and Anime/manga fan (but i dot buy the figures since they are freaking expensive XD). But in anime my favorites are from 10 to 1:

10) Gundam Wing (love the show a lot and the movie specially but at first it annoyed me for overpowering the gundams a lot)

9) Evangelion (Rei and Asuka are hot but also because the story is really crazy, especially about the angels but hated the ending for being so sad yet loved it but the thing that made it number 9 and nothing better was that i hated the fact that the two girls have 14 when they have the bodies of 20 year old models XD)

8) guyver: a perfect horror, superhero anime which has elements of toku and scifi

7) Bleach (love the show but the problem is simple, it has too many characters and many parts of it copied my number 1 show, specially the soul society arc but still like it a lot)

6) Code Geass (mecha, romance and crazy school life made this show one of my favorites, specially the innocent Nunnally)

5) Casshern Sins (a very deep storyline, even if its also depressing sometimes, each episode tells a story, there are so many parts of this anime you will love but wont be able to decide which is your favorite) the ones who have watched my number one anime are going to love this one

4) Gundam Seed/Destiny (Loved it the moment i watched it, so did the moment i watched lunamaria)

3) Dragon Ball Z (i grew up with this awesomeness what do you expect? XD)

2) D gray man (its just too awesome, specially lenalee XD)

1) The legendary anime of the 80's Saint Seiya (AKA Knights of the Zodiac) the anime that made me love anime so much until now. I could talk about it all day but I wont, so i recommend it a lot (and the manga)

(Naruto for being the most overrated, boring, and wannabe dragon ball z anime that makes me want to sleep every time (for its usual fights involving blablabla and flashbacks then a little fight, repeating the cycle multiple times) didnt got the priviledge of getting in my top 10 but i like the manga more than the anime and i respect the creator for being able to accidently create the worse type of anime fans, "the Narutards" XD

If you hated Evangelion (which I thought was crazy awesome overall, BTW), then you might want to stay away from Satoshi Kon stuff, like Paranoia Agent and Paprika.

Those two anime will definitely make you THINK!

Gonna be honest, Anime usually sucks.
They usually
A) Change the plot halfway through cause the manga is still going, so it ends up crap. The one of the worst in this case is the first Fullmetal Alchemist series. Honestly, why are you people praising this when it provided DANTE, MOMMA SLOTH, and TIME TRAVELING DOOR TO 1918 WWI. At least Brotherhood is gonna keep closer to the comic. I don't know how long that'll last but I can hope all 50 something episodes.
B) Manage to botch up the art because anime can be lazy at times. I mean most series that keep up with weekly manga rather than ending it early end up doing this. And Reborn is always ugly. They ruined the Yamato wall scene.
C) Code Geass

Keep in mind I said usually(Twice) because there are actually some cool anime out there like (Good anime starts here people, pay attention) Bebop/Champloo/Mitchiko to Hatchin, stuff from Miyazaki(Porco Rosso,Spirited Away, Totoro, Nausicaa), when Yasuhiro Imagawa directs (G Gundam, GaoGaiGar, and high hopes for Shin Maizenger, and I've heard nothing but good for Giant Robo), Kanji and Akagi (even though they started off as comics), and The Big O.

Although I will give most anime the props for good audio. Voice actors are usually quality. And the music can be some of the best (Gash Bell shows this by being animated poorly yet having some of the greatest songs).

Point is, if it has a Manga that came first, it's usually better to read that.

Also, half of you should be ashamed for putting NARUTO and BLEACH on your lists.
