Halla will crumble... and there will be nowhere for you to escape, Bobby Pendragon...

Pendragon is about a boy called Pendragon who is forced to fight to save territories (planets or universes) to crumble. Saint Dane, the main villian tries to destroy Halla (Halla means everything: space, time, things, humans), and it is up to Pendragon to save it. Well, Saint Dane tries to change the flow of time (just like Imagins do) so that they will lead to another direction which will lead to the destruction of the planet.

What I like about this series is that Pendragon actually fails in some books, and so far many territories have already crumbled. And Earth is going to be next...

Yay for Pendragon.

Yes, one of the highlights of this series is that there are some major losses. Many deaths have occurred, and more are coming, I'm assuming.

Normally, I don't like the whole "written in first person" point of view thing, but MacHale is able to pull it off with the journals, and then swapping to Mark and Courtney (*weep*) and how they're dealing with things. Personally, I give this series a 10/10. It's original, fun, adventurous, and knows how to keep you enthralled from start to finish.

This is not those boring-3-day-book-reading-and-"why do I have to read this book"-sort of stuff. It's one of those "Hmm.... I'd like to read it" and you sit there for hours, told off by people to help out, but you still keep reading. That's how interesting it is for me.

I absolutely loved these books. I use past tense because I haven't read them since middle school, so that would be *counting on fingers* ...about 3-4 years ago? I left off on the one about the computer world (their first loss) or the First Earth one... I don't really remember, so whichever came after.

But yeah, it's a great series. I gotta remember to finish reading it.

Their first loss of territory was Veelox, the Lifelight world. It was such an amazing book.

If you read the later books, they lose all three Earth territories.

I agree. This is by far the best series i've read so far. I've read every single book and still waiting for the last book to come :geek:

I finally finished the whole series (of course, except for the tenth book). I want the tenth book to be called King of Halla.

King of Halla? Not too shabby. I doubt it'll be anything like that, though. Sadly.

I don't know. The forumers on TPA all have this name they've banded together and I believe they've gotten so into saying it that they think it's the actual title. XD It's kind of amusing sometimes.

I can't really think of anything I'd like the last book to be called. I just know that DJ has said he completed the first draft the week before the ninth book was released. So, maybe it won't be a full year before we get the last book. I surely hope not.

So, let's start discussing. What of Nevva? Is she good or evil? What do you think her real intension with Saint Dane is?

I feel she thinks she's in love with him and that by following him and his actions, he'll develop feelings for her and they're "rule the universe" together. But I'm probably wrong, knowing DJ.

I really just hope she dies in the last book.

I think that histroy's reapting itself. Maybe every generation of Travelers has a corrupt Traveler, like Saint Daine. Then the Last Generation, which is Bobby's team, has a corrupt Traveler as well, which is Nevva Winter.

I just have to bump this :D
The Pendragon series is by far, one of my most favorite series to read right now. The books are lengthy and sometimes complicated, but in a good way, and the storyline is amazing.

Some people have gotten the idea that all territories in Halla are connected, but not just by the flumes, meaning its all just a huge evolution of Earth. However I think that each territory is separate with the except of the Earth Territories, Veelox, and Ibara. The whole point of the Convergence is to bring the territories together so Saint Dane can rule Halla.

One territory, one history, one leader.

As for Nevva, she's by far one of my favorite characters. :3
Her reasons for joining Saint Dane are unknown, but I think she joined him because she saw him as a father figure. Saint Dane kinda raised her, he formed her the way he wanted her. She potentially saw him as a father and obeyed him, I mean she did lack her own father and her mother told Press to make Nevva become the Traveler for Quillan. I dun want Nevva to die D:

She could eventually come back to the 'good' side.

Hey, did you know that there will be a spin-off? It will be called "Pendragon: Before the war." It's about the other nine travelers before they met Pendragon. There will be three books, with three travelers in each book. Unfortunately, the books will not be written by MacHale (the creator).

Aww... I was hoping this was about the Pendragon series by Lawrence White.

Alas, this seems more sci-fi-like than the stuff I generally enjoy reading. It's interesting that you mention the Imajin parallel. Intriguing.
